Message You say the trottle bodies leak air around the throttle plate. I'm sure they do. Your throttle body is nothing more than a small butterfly valve and anyone who has worked with butterfly valves know that while they make excellent low pressure drop flow control valves, they do not, and in fact cannot, provide full full flow shut off. If anyone has told you that these valve should or even can provide 100% shut off (i.e. close without some air leaking around the plates) then they are either 1) misinformed, 2) stupid, 3) lying to you (take your pick).

What, in fact, are the symptoms you are attributing to leaking throttle body valves? Excessive leaking around the plate will result in high idle rpm, but so will failure of the plate to close or (and this is more common) a poorly adjusted or poor performing throttle position sensor.

I have periodic problems with high idle (which existed both before and after installing ported trottle bodies) but they can be corrected by doing no more than tapping the trottle body connector.

Also, have you adjusted your idle speed since installing the trottle bodies. This is not as easy as it sounds since to do it right, you have to disconnect a plug that is tucked away behind the engine.

If the trottle plates are too small, you should be able to tell by looking at them (compare the gap to the one in your stock bodies). You can also check the throat diameters to see if they are significantly out of round.
